This story develops in England, in a cold spring evening, after the fox hunting when all the participants in the event use to gather to tell jokes, happenings and riddles.
This time was the turn of the duchess and all of them were gathered in one room at the duchess’ castle telling riddles.
As one of them saw a mare passing by the window he invented this riddle:
Mine is big but
bigger I will like it
so between my legs
I couldn’t keep it.
“I know it, I know it !!!”.
"OK, Mr. the marquis*, go ahead”, the duchess* said.
"The dick!!!" the marquis replied.
"Mr. the marquis, how the hell could you utter those nasty word in my house. Please, do a favor to me, go away from here !!!.” the duchess said.
"Please, duchess, do not do that to me, with all my friends here, please!!!"
He was such expressive that was able to soften the duchess who allowed him to stay.
But after a while, another person saw a lady playing with her ring in the finger and produced this riddle:
It is a soft and mild object
and when it penetrates
it penetrates up to the end.
“I know it, I know it!!!"
"OK, Mr. the marquis, go ahead”, the duchess said as ingenuous as she was.
The .dick!!!”, the marquis replied. "
Matthew”, she said calling the butler “please, bring Mr. Marquis’ hat and cape because he is leaving”.
And once again, the marquis asked her to stay in almost crying. Finally, he was able to soften the duchess again but this time she sent him to the farest place in the big room and asked him to remain quiet. He promised doing so but could not avoid listening.
And the meeting continues. As one of the people saw another introducing a cookie in the tea, he devised the following riddle:
It enters hard and arrogant
and gets out soft and dripping.
When the marquis heard this, he stood up, called the butler and said:
"Matthew, please, bring my hat and my cape because I am leaving before the duchess throw me out, but this time I am not wrong, this time I am sure the answer is the dick!!!”, and he left.
